Sometimes back Gujarat, TamilNadu and other state government conducted the teachers eligibility test. Gujarat SET exam was also successfully completed by the GSEB board last month (see the result). Similarly, Maharashtra government and education board is working on MAHA state teachers eligibility test 2013. Maharashtra State Council of Examinations, Pune has declared TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) in line with guidelines of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) to be conducted on 15/12/2013 to fill up 32,746 are vacant posts out of 3,38,658 sanctioned posts in the state.

MAHATET 2013 is being conducted for those who are aspiring to become  a primary and upper-primary teacher. The similar exam was also conducted a while back in UP called UP Upper primary test 2013. TET exam is becoming a popular way to get jobs in government approved and private schools and colleges. There are different type of TET exams for different kind of vacancies and education level. All in all, Maharashtra state teachers eligibility test 2013 will make a new breed of teachers. In case, if you are interested then you can also try GATE 2014 application form.

Schedule of some important dates as follows

  • Applicant can submit Application from 20/10/2013 to 11/11/2013 in official website www.mahatet.in
  • Confirmation Page Receipt by 20/10/2013 to 15/11/2013
  • Application Status can be checked from 20/10/2013 to 17/11/2013
  • Examination Date:15/12/2013


Following candidates will be eligible for appearing TET Examination

A Candidate who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the appropriate authority, as the case may be) as mentioned in GR dtd.13/02/2013 of Marashtra Government

There will be two papers in the TET Examination. Candidate who wants to be eligible as a teacher for Class I to V should appear Paper-I and for Class VI to VIII , Paper-II shall be appeared. In case of eligibility required for Class I to VIII. then both papers shall be appeared. Here these papers will include Multiple Choice questions (MCQs) each consisting one mark and having four alternatives. There will be no negative marking.

Qualifying marks as per Maharashtra Govt. dtd.23/08/2013

A Candidate scoring 60% and above will be considered to pass TET examination. A Candidate belonging to categories-SC, ST, VJ, NT, OBC, disabled persons scoring 55% and above will be considered to pass TET examination. Candidates will have to register online in the official website in following sequence.

  • Click Apply Online
  • Go to registration
  • Fill the Form with uploading photo & signature
  • After verifying filled details print bank challan & deposit fees in SBI Branch
  • Update challan on mahatet.in & print confirmation page
  • Submit to district Education office

MAHATET 2013 admit card can be downloaded from the official website. Do not forget to get the admit card as you will not be allowed to appear in the exam without the hall ticket. All the best to all candidates who are going to appear for this year's MAHATET 2013 examination.
