University Grants Commission i.e. UGC NET June 2013 result will be declared very soon. CSIR conducted the exam on 23rd and 30th June for the students of 2013 batch in all the colleges accredited with UGC. NET or National Eligibility Test is compulsory for all the post graduates students who wish to qualify for PhD research. Even, they can opt in to become a professor or lecturer in university colleges. UGC NET is an examination for humanity and arts discipline students.
The entire idea behind UGC NET 2013 exam is to prepare a new breed of teachers who are well capable of teaching university level students. It has improved the level of education in colleges.
The entire UGC NET examination is under the scrutiny of the government and people are suggesting to abolish such exams. Nonetheless, it has helped cultivating a good crop of teachers and hence the government has kept their trust in this flawed system. CSIR conducts the exam for science streams while UGC handles the exam for commerce and art streams. For a lectureship the marks for general quota students was kept higher compared to OBC and SC/ST quota which became a big issue. High court had to intervene to take matter into its own hand and to provide justice.
